We invite you to join us for an essential Legislative Update for Manufacturers, featuring guest presenters Robert Spiegel and Lawrence Gayden from the California Manufacturer & Technology Association (CMTA).
 
Robert and Lawrence will be discussing tax, employment labor policy issues, and the dozens of new bills that impact manufacturing in California.
 
In addition, Rebecca Eusey, Senior Economic Development Analyst with the Employment Training Panel (ETP), will kick off the event with a brief presentation on a funding source available to manufacturers for employee training and upskilling.


Rob Spiegel is the Vice President of Government Affairs for the California Manufacturers & Technology Association (CMTA). Rob has specialized in policy areas relating to utilities, insurance, transportation, climate change and taxation among others. A 17-year government affair, policy and regulatory professional, he joined CMTA in October 2021 after previously serving as a policy advocate for the California Farm Bureau Federation. He has served as principal consultant to the California Assembly Water, Parks and Wildlife Committee, Assembly Agriculture Committee, and the Budget Committee. Rob has also served as staff to members in the California State Legislature and the state Congressional Delegation. Spiegel graduated from the University of California, Davis with a degree in Political Science.
 
 
Lawrence Gayden is a policy director for the California Manufacturers & Technology Association and has been with the association since 2019. Lawrence works alongside the Government Relations team covering economic development, labor & employment, education, and pharmaceutical policy issues. He also serves on the board of the California EDGE Coalition, helping advance state policy and investments that create and sustain pathways to good jobs for all Californians. Lawrence graduated from California State University, Sacramento with a degree in English. Before landing at CMTA, Lawrence started his career at the Sacramento-based lobbying firm Political Solutions, focusing on business and labor issues. A native of Oakland, CA, Lawrence loves watching basketball and enjoying the best of Sacramento’s culinary scene.
 
 
Rebecca Eusey is also a Justice impacted workforce development specialist and Veteran's Advocate. A Veteran’s spouse, she’s lived in Naples Italy and Keflavik Iceland courtesy of the Navy. She is passionate about helping California business stay healthy and competitive, while centering workers of all backgrounds. Originally from Ontario Canada, she is a talented costume designer, and you can find her work at Comic Con.
